Madame Khola Hydropower Project (MKHP)

Madame Khola Hydropower Project (MKHP) is located within Annapurna Conservation Area at Madi Gaupalika of Kaski District, Gandaki Zone of Western Development Region of Nepal. It identifies the project with a Capacity of 24 MW and the company obtained a survey license on 15/04/2074 from the Department of Electricity Development (DoED) to start the feasibility study. The project is located between the confluence of Madi river-Madame Khola and 3 km upstream of the confluence.


The project has been designed as a run of river (RoR) type and has an estimated annual energy as per FSR is 138.73 GWh. Design discharge of the project is 5.18 m³/s at 42.8% exceedance flow and a gross head of 542.50 m. The project consumes 1,45,224 bags of Cement, 2,100T of Steel, 1,815m3 of Aggregate, 10,892m3 of Sand, 1,698.11T of Steel Plate, 97,440 nos of Skilled Manpower and 1,08,918 nos of Unskilled Manpower.
